A family that moved from California to Virginia thought they had lost their cat forever; it turns out their feline snuck into the truck that carried their belongings across the country.
Milo made the 3,000-mile trip from California to Virginia with food, water, or a litter box.Shawnn Striverson and his wife were moving to Norfolk,Va., and they had only had their cat, Milo, a for few months. On moving day, Milo seemingly disappeared. After a two-hour search of the neighborhood with no luck, the truck departed for its destination.
Two weeks and 3,000 miles later, the truck arrived at the Striverson’s new residence. As the movers unpacked the vehicle, they made a startling discovery.
“[Milo] jumped out of the truck, and I thought it was impossible,” Matthew Phillips, the truck’s driver, said. “We started unloading towards him, and then he finally popped his head out.”
In this case, curiosity didn’t kill the cat – it merely took him on a cross-country trip.
Milo’s owners were relieved to hear their cat was safe. No one has any idea how Milo survived the trip.
“Cats do have nine lives,” Phillips said. “That’s the way I look at it.”
