You may remember when we introduced you to Palmerston, the stray cat who found a job as the Chief Mouser at the British Foreign Affairs Office. Well it seems that Palmerston is having a little bit of trouble staying on his own turf. He was kicked out of 10 Downing Street by police after sneaking inside.
Larry the cat wouldn’t be too happy about that, as 10 Downing Street is his territory. In fact, Larry’s staying there even though David Cameron left office. And Larry’s already had a run-in with Palmerston that left him with an injured paw. So Palmerston definitely is not welcome in Larry’s home any more.
Palmerston was pretty grumpy about getting the boot, and even had a bit of a stand-off with a police officer. It’s thought that this bad behavior from the government’s cats may be due to the recent regime change. They may just be missing their usual humans. But hopefully they’ll realize that they share a common enemy in the nation’s mice, and they’ll be able to work together to keep their government officials safe.
Do you think Palmerston should be allowed to go where he pleases? Do you think he and Larry will be able to resolve their differences? Let us know in the comments below!
