A pet shop was closing in downtown Seoul, South Korea, and a lonely, five-weak-old kitten with a respiratory infection was waiting for someone to come along and give him a home. That’s when a couple walked in and saved the day. The two Lord of the Rings fans saw the kitten’s little bearded face and knew he had to be named Gandalf. That’s when Gandalf set out on a quest to see the world.
The Siberian cat’s journey is being documented on Instagram as he strolls all over the world on his leash. He’s no ordinary house cat, as he spends his days climbing rocks at Yosemite National Park, remembering the Alamo, or admiring the view of the Grand Canyon. And he doesn’t just love the sights, he’s a people cat, too. The two-year-old kitty adores meeting his fans and new people whenever he can.
Gandalf and his family plan on moving from their California home to New Zealand soon, the same country where the Lord of the Rings was filmed. This globetrotting feline’s quest continues, as he travels the world.
