Downing Street Officials Draw Up ‘Media Plan’ for Larry the Cat’s Eventual Passing

The beloved Downing Street cat, Larry, is getting on in years. Thus, officials are drawing up a media plan to announce his death when it is time to say goodbye to the feline. The Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office has outlived most tabbies. People fear he might be in his final years. Since the kitty has a massive fan following on X — formerly known as Twitter — officials believe it is important to handle the topic sensitively when it is time.

Larry the cat demands a bank holiday for his funeral and assures fans he ‘feels fine’

Larry the cat recently welcomed his sixth prime minister, Keir Starmer. He has kept David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, and Rishi Sunak company. However, the tabby is 17 years old. The average lifespan for most tabbies is about 12 to 15 years.

Downing Street officials fear the cat might be approaching the end of his life. Thus, they are re-examining their plans to announce his passing when the time comes. Photos of the Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office in Downing Street have been carefully selected. They shall be released when the feline eventually passes away. According to The Times, the images are stored in the folders of the No. 10 IT system.

A press release has also been drafted for the unfortunate occasion. This will ensure the subject is handled sensitively. The plan has been named Larry Bridges. A well-thought-out social media plan is also in place for his followers on X.

However, government officials were quick to reassure that the Downing Street cat was doing just fine. The Chief Mouser’s X account also assured his followers regarding the same, with the feline exclaiming, “…plenty of life in me yet.” To keep it light, Larry the cat also demanded a bank holiday to be declared for his eventual funeral.
