The core ingredients of spaghetti are flour, eggs and water. None of these are considered poisonous to cats.
So as long as the spaghetti is cooked and not served with any additional sauces, herbs or spices, your cat can chow down on a little bit of spaghetti and should not experience any adverse effects.
Just be sure that the spaghetti has cooled after you take it out of the boiling water before letting your cat eat any.
When Is Spaghetti Bad For Cats?
Spaghetti might not be toxic to cats, but it’s also not really a great addition to any feline’s diet. It’s high in carbohydrates, but a cat’s diet should primarily consist of protein.
Eating too much spaghetti could result in your feline experiencing a protein deficiency, and it could also bring on a case of feline obesity if they eat it over a long time.
Another issue with letting a cat eat spaghetti is that it is commonly served in sauces that might contain ingredients like garlic and onions that could be toxic to a cat or upset their stomach.
Additionally, processed spaghetti bought in cans will usually contain ingredients that felines should avoid.
